British Soap Awards 2019: Tracy Shaw has failed to age in 16 years

British Soap Awards – It has been 16 years since Tracy’s character, Maxine Peacock was killed off by Richard Hillman and fans reckon she looks exactly as she last appeared on the show

Tracy Shaw may have been away from the cobbles of Coronation Street for more than a decade and a half – but fans were convinced she looked exactly the same as she did the last time they saw her on the soap.

Viewers tuning in to the British Soap Awards 2019 were stunned to see 45-year-old Tracy appear at the awards bash on Saturday night to present the outstanding achievement award.

Tracy played hairdresser Maxine Peacock on Corrie between May 1995 and January 2003 – the character being brutally killed off by Richard Hillman.

But fans couldn’t believe how little Tracy had aged when she appeared back on screens 16 years later to take part at the awards at the Lowry Theatre in Manchester on Saturday night.

“OMG! Maxine Peacock has never aged since Richard Hillman stoved her head in all those years ago!” one fan commented on twitter.

“Tracy Shaw! Where has she been hiding? And how does she look exactly the same 20 years on?!” commented another.

While other complimentary tweets included one from a fan writing: “Tracy Shaw looks lovely,” with another stating she “hasn’t aged much in 16 years”.

Tracy attended the awards wearing a striking ivory coloured dress and was positively beaming when she handed Audrey Roberts actress Sue Nicholls-Eden the outstanding achievement award.

Away from Corrie, Tracy’s career has been almost as dead as her soap character.

She has featured in occasional episodes of BBC dramas Doctors and Casualty – with only five on-screen roles since she walked away from the Cobbles in 2003.
